
Westminster College women’s basketball went undefeated this weekend hosting two schools from Colorado.
The Griffin’s kicked off the weekend playing against Regis University Friday night. Junior Sarah McGinley scored 28 points and junior Mariah Martin added 20, leading the team to a 73-57 victory.
McGinley’s 28 points were the highest in the game, with Martin chipping in four rebounds and four assists.
Senior Kaitlin Toluono grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds and added seven points. Junior Hunter Krebs scored 11 points and snagged six rebounds.
Regis led the game with the a score of 37-32 at halftime. During the second half, the Griffins outscored the Rangers to lead to a win.
Westminster took the lead with 4:08 left in the third quarter and held the lead the rest of the game.
The team returned to the court, hosting Colorado Christian University Saturday night.
The Griffins outscored Colorado Christian 20-6 in the third quarter, ending with a 30-point victory over the Cougars, 74-44.
Krebs led all scorers with a total of 18 points with Martin and junior Abby Magum adding 10 points each.
The two teams battled in a competitive first quarter that ended with the Griffins holding a four-point lead at 19-15.
Westminster held its lead for the duration of the game.
The team improved its conference record to 10-1 and its overall recordo 15-2.
The Griffins will host another set of conference games against Western Colorado Friday night. They will also face Colorado Mesa Saturday night — a game featuring the two top teams in RMAC standings.
