Near Westminster College on 1300 East is a Little Free Library that anyone can use. The library is based off of the honor system, which means that anyone may take as many books as they like as long as they return those books when they are finished with them.
The books do not need to be returned necessarily, but other books must be replaced in exchange for those books that were originally taken.
The Little Free Library’s mission statement, which can be found on its website at littlefreelibrary.org, states that the organization wants “to promote literacy and the love of reading by building free book exchanges worldwide and to build a sense of community as we share skills, creativity and wisdom across generations.”
Stewards hold the responsibility of caring for a free library and contribute to the overall organization’s mission.
